Introduction to Pro-Life Reasoning

To begin, let us consider the following syllogism1:

Deliberately targeting innocent persons for destruction should be illegal AND Unborn children are persons IMPLIES Deliberately targeting unborn children for destruction should be illegal

These two premises, with their conclusion, form the foundation of the pro-life philosophy and justify our decision to be activists. Let us consider them each in turn.

  1. Discussion Tip

When discussing abortion with a pro-choice person, it is important to keep the distinction between Premise 1 and Premise 2 clear in your mind. Tackle them one at a time, and do not mix Premise-1-related and Premise-2-related arguments together.
